Spotlight on this 1988 Volvo 245 wagon

This 1988 Volvo 245 wagon stands out with its wintergreen paint and beige interior. The listing describes it as a four-door station wagon in very nice shape, equipped with a manual transmission and gasoline engine. Its boxy profile and simple trim details reflect the practical design common to Volvo wagons of that decade, making it useful for scenes that need authentic background texture without drawing attention away from the action.

Producers scouting in San Diego, California, can evaluate the vehicle for its clean lines and understated presence. The four-door layout and wagon body style allow easy access for loading props or positioning talent inside the cabin. Its overall condition supports repeated use across multiple days of filming while keeping the focus on the story rather than the vehicle itself.

Movie Car Registry and the California Picture Car Market

Movie Car Registry connects productions with vehicles listed through USA Movie Cars, giving crews in San Diego, California, direct access to local options. USA Movie Cars works with state picture-car sites such as California Picture Cars to help productions find local picture vehicles more efficiently. This network approach reduces travel time for location managers who need reliable cars without shipping vehicles across the country.

San Diego sits in a busy production corridor that stretches from Los Angeles down the coast, so having a 1988 Volvo 245 wagon based there adds flexibility for shoots that stay in Southern California. Producers can review the listing on Movie Car Registry and coordinate directly with USA Movie Cars for scheduling and logistics.

History of the 1988 Volvo 245 wagon

The Volvo 245 wagon belongs to the 240 series that Volvo produced from the mid-1970s through the early 1990s. These vehicles earned a reputation for durability and straightforward engineering, with the station wagon body style becoming a familiar sight on American roads during the 1980s. The DL trim offered a balance of comfort and utility that appealed to families and fleet buyers alike.

By 1988 the 245 had settled into its final years of production, carrying the same angular styling that defined the model line. The manual transmission and four-door configuration were common choices for buyers who valued control and practicality. Today the model serves as a clear visual marker for stories set in the 1980s without requiring extensive set dressing.
