1981 DeLorean DMC-12 Rental Added in Florida

Movie Car Registry has added this 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 to its listings through the USA Movie Cars network. The vehicle sits in Kissimmee, Florida, and producers working on film, television, or commercial projects in the state now have another local option for period-correct picture vehicles. Crews shooting in central Florida can reach the car quickly for shoots that need an iconic 1980s silhouette without long-distance transport.

Spotlight on this 1981 DeLorean DMC-12

The car carries a silver exterior and black leather interior. It is a two-door coupe with a five-speed manual transmission and runs on gasoline. The listing notes the vehicle is fully restored and award-winning, and it bears a signature from the actor who played Doc Brown. Producers see immediate value in those details when a scene calls for an instantly recognizable 1980s vehicle that already carries production experience.

This DeLorean has completed various shoots across media types. That track record tells location managers and picture car coordinators the car handles set movement, camera setups, and lighting requirements without surprises. Its presence in Kissimmee, Florida, also places it within reach of Miami, Orlando, and Tampa productions that need a Florida-based vehicle rather than one shipped from out of state.

Movie Car Registry and the Florida Picture Car Market

Movie Car Registry works with USA Movie Cars to surface vehicles like this one for productions across the country. The network connects listings to state-specific picture car sites so crews searching for Florida picture car rental options reach local inventory faster. When a production needs a vehicle in Kissimmee, Florida, the connection reduces search time and transport costs.

USA Movie Cars coordinates with state partners such as Florida Picture Cars to keep regional inventories visible. This approach helps location managers and prop masters locate cars that already sit in the right market. Producers filming in Florida benefit from shorter drive times and vehicles familiar with local roads and permitting processes.

History of the 1981 DeLorean DMC-12

The DeLorean DMC-12 entered production in the early 1980s as a stainless-steel sports coupe with gull-wing doors. Its angular shape and brushed-metal finish made it stand out from other cars of the era. The 1981 model year places this example squarely in the heart of that short production run, giving it the exact look crews seek for 1980s period scenes.

Many productions recognize the model from its strong visual identity rather than any single film appearance. The combination of futuristic styling cues and real-world 1980s manufacturing details lets the car serve both literal period work and stylized projects that want a distinctive background element. Its manual transmission and two-door coupe body keep the driving character consistent with how these cars performed when new.

Florida Picture Car Rental Uses

Crews can place the car in establishing shots that need an immediate 1980s Florida street feel. It also works as a character vehicle for scenes set in that decade, whether the story takes place in a suburban driveway or a downtown parking lot. Background texture comes easily when the car sits among other period vehicles or stands alone in a wide shot.

Commercial and music video productions have already used the car, according to the listing. Still photographers can book it for automotive or lifestyle shoots that want the silver body and black interior as a focal point. Event planners and branded content teams have another option when they need a static display piece that draws attention without requiring on-camera driving.
