History of the 1939 LaSalle convertible coupe

LaSalle was introduced by Cadillac as a companion brand aimed at buyers who wanted luxury styling at a lower price point. By 1939 the convertible coupe body style combined open-air driving with the formal lines expected in upper-market automobiles. The model year placed the car squarely in the late Depression period, when manufacturers emphasized streamlined shapes and distinctive grilles.

The two-door convertible layout offered flexibility for both personal use and public display. Restored examples like this one retain the original proportions and hardware that define the era. Productions set in the 1930s often rely on these details to establish time and place without extensive set dressing.

Kentucky Picture Car Rental Uses

Crews filming period scenes in Kentucky can place this LaSalle in establishing shots that show street life or private driveways. The gray-and-red color combination provides contrast against both rural and urban backgrounds common in the state. Directors can also use the car as a character vehicle when the story calls for a well-kept luxury automobile.

Still photographers and music video teams working in Louisville, Kentucky, can stage the convertible for single-vehicle shots or as background texture. Event producers and branded content creators sometimes request classic cars for photo opportunities or product launches that reference earlier decades. The restored condition of this LaSalle supports those varied applications.
